I can't deny it...I'm a lucky guy. I'm what I wanted to be when I was 7 years old. I took a crazy route to get here, but I ultimately listened to my inner 3rd grader, and that's made all the difference.
Like most magicians, my first experience with a magician as a boy led me to a library. In this case, it was my big brother's high school math teacher and track coach, John Mitsopoulos. He visited our house one night for dinner, and graciously offered to share his magic hobby with our family. In a word, I was stupefied by his close-up magic and card tricks. I had to know how he did it. Really had to know. Especially, where that red scarf went. So, off I was to my local library in Piscataway, and there I found my first magic book. I have a copy it on my shelf right now, along with about 2,000 other books I've collected along the way.
Since then it's been the world's best hobby, and since leaving corporate America in 1992, it's been my career. I'm lucky enough to do a wide variety of events, around 250 or so every year, and I love each challenge; weddings, bar mitzvahs, trade shows, kid's parties, theaters, team building, golf tournaments, fundraisers, sales meetings, product launches, nursing homes, summer camps, and on and on. Every week is different and every day I make new friends. It's taken me from local restaurants, including The Frog and The Peach, in New Brunswick, where I started as the house magician, to several resorts and hotels in Barbados, to corporate hospitality suites all around the country, over to Europe, Russia, down to New Zealand, and even to Hollywood, at the world famous Magic Castle.
